Why this photo among the many? Why does it touch me? Maybe it is my current mood. A feeling of devastation, of ending brought by winter. A sad melody at the start of a new year.

Boardwalk
The fundamental duality: objectivity and subjectivity. Some photographers lean toward the objective side and become photo-technicians that use photography to capture representations of reality. Others want to use photography as a tool to explore meaning, shapes and colors.
When I open a photo, I feel an inner tension. Either I treat the photo to capture a moment of time or as a springboard to explore an inner reality.

Difficult way out
It is very telling that I began the 2010 year with this photo. I expect a very tough time ahead for all in America. How to face the challenges ahead? What a mess we are!
